Stuck in Mind

I am hooked on a sitcom named "The Middle" these days.

Before I know it, I have breezed past a season,

This is the first series that has truly found its place in my heart, after the very best one, "The Big Bang Theory"

A little bit of fun, a bit of daily drama, a quirky and perfectly normal family, living their lives through the grind.

In a world of solving murder mysteries, humans flying through the web, finding a little time to put on their underpants in the right order, and somebody saving the world. A TV series that feels closer to what we live like feels just right to my heart.

It's a story of a middle-aged couple, three kids, among whom one is a teenager, Axl .

Yes, the rebellious kind, in the age when you despise everything that your parents are asking you to do.

I love the dad character of it, when the mom is trying to make Axl listen to what she has to say most of the time. The dad takes a different approach; he speaks in the language he thinks the teenagers understand.

During one such episode, Axl is trying to sneak out on Christmas Eve, which parents are so much looking forward to spending together as a family. The dad softly mentions and sings to him the line of a famous 20th-century song called "Cats in the Cradle".

Nothing else is said, and the song changes everything for him. He drops the party and joins the family.
