Our Skin in the Game — Compassion, Priced at $35

There is something very interesting that I want to share with you today.

In about two months, the fate of a cow named Angus will be decided.
And right now… the outlook is grim.

Here’s what happened:

About a year ago, an art collective called MSCHF launched a thoughtful initiative.
They bought a young cow and named it Angus.

Then they pre-sold Angus as 1200 hamburgers and four leather handbags.

Customers paid $35 for an “Angus Token”, which could be redeemed once Angus reached the typical slaughter age of two years, common in the United States.

Now Angus is approaching that age.
And it’s up to the token holders to vote on what happens next.

If by March 13, 2026, more than half the buyers cancel their purchases through the Remorse Portal, Angus will live the rest of its life at Home for Happy Cows.

If not… Angus dies.
And the hamburgers and handbags are delivered into the world.

As of now, only 31.8% of votes want Angus to stay alive.

This project flips how we look at meat production — not through statistics, but through a story with suspense, stakes, and accountability.

By turning Angus into a collective consumer responsibility, MSCHF forces us to confront the real price of food.
A few dollars sounds fine.
But an actual life-or-death decision?
Maybe that’s a lot. Who knows.

Let’s see if we care enough to share the planet.
You can check on Angus’s status here.

Angus doesn’t understand tokens, voting, or deadlines.
Angus just wants to live.

And on March 13, we’ll find out what we value more — a moment of consumption, or a lifetime we could’ve spared.
