Aug update yearly goal

   

🌟 August 2025 – Monthly Goal Review

“Discipline isn't a switch you flip—it’s a muscle you train.”


🎯 Personal Goals

  • Don’t die or have near-death experiences
    ✅ Still safe and steady. I miss my high energetic self, i want to learn some quirky skills to give me mental highs. I found out about a rock climbing place nearby, maybe i need to enquire about it.

  • Enjoy one solo dinner per month
    ❌ still struggling with this

  • Meditate 10 min on 15 days/month
    ❌ I didn’t do it, more than want this is becoming need for me. I have gone a little wayward last few months, i need to find a way back home.

  • Avoid writing to acquaintances <6 months; write 2 letters to self
    ❌ No progress

  • Take at least 5 photos/week
    I took a few pictures, but i need to improve 

  • Limit cheat meals (samosa, biryani, gol gappas) to 1×/week
    My test reports are calling for help. I am doubling down on this, I have started avoiding food in night. I have also reduced the habit of overeating.


🏋️‍♂️ Logging Goals

🏋️‍♂️ Gym 4×/week

13 gym days. so its 13/31 days still room for improvement. I was fairly regular, i need to restart

💪 Pushups/Situps/Planks (Weekly target: 100 pushups, 100 situps, 15 min planks)

No pushup away from gym

10 days of plank with 6 mins highest.


I am setting very daunting goals, i need to improve here.


📱 Screen Time – Goal: Max 2.5 hrs/day

 An average of 4 hours and 6 minutes

I spend around 5 days and 3 hours of my total awake time on the phone which is a little improvement. I am being more conscious, way to go


📓 Journal + TODO list – Daily

No progress at all, I will start to blog here back


🏃‍♂️ Running Goals

  • ✅ Run 2 full marathons

    • ✅ Mumbai: Done

    • ✅ Bangalore: Registered



🏃 Half Marathons (Goal: 5; Target Time: 1:40)

  • ✅ Seva Bharti – 1:50

  • ✅ Mindspace – 2:01:49

    ✅Hyderabad- 2:10:03

  • current goal is to reach to my 6 months back potential and take it from there


⏱️ Run 10K in 40 min

Running with specific pre planned target is adding some stress mentally. The enjoyment is getting sucked out and it's turning into a competitive exam. I am going to make it recreational again, and achieve smaller targets, and make having fun a goal.

📚 Hobby Goals

  • ✅ Watched: Agro, a movie about iran and us secret services

  • ✅ Reading Inner game of tennis


🙏 Spiritual Goals

  • Yes, Ganesh puja was a big thing


💰 Financial Goals

  • ✅ Exited part of stocks: Added some nifty and sold some swiggy

  • ❌ No gold investment — Still looking for a way to do it 


🤝 Social & Family Goals

  • ✅ Invested in friendships —  yes i am meeting my brothers this month end, extremely excited and looking forward 

  • ✅ Instagram: I am off right now

  • ✅ No forced or one-sided connections

  • ✅ No appearance-based comments

  • ✅ Talking more with mom — relationship improving

  • ⚠️ Not consistent with sister or full inner circle — still working on it

    +➕move away from twitter completely. 


💻 Professional Goals

  • ✅ Started working on system design ideas

  • BhumikVaru.com – Bought the domain

    moved the blog there


🌈 Milestones & Fun Challenges

  • =🔜 Shirtless beach/snow photo — need to lose belly fat

  • 🔜 NMDC Slam prep — taken a break

  • ❌ Driving — zero action

  • ✅ Played with dogs at home 🐶 — i miss you my friends, one of you came to meet at home, i made you eat cat food, i am sorry if you didn’t like. If you loved it i got three more packs again, please come visit me

  • 🔜 Shave head — still on back burner

  • ❌ Memorize a poem — Kipling’s “If” is on my wall and a few lines in my memory 


🛠️ Life Improvements

  • One of the plants died 🫩

  • I order new memory foam pillows at an amazing discount.
  • Ganesh puja was after a big wait
  • Divided into US equity

🎉 Aug Highlights

  • Health parameters deteriorated 

  • Eating completely haywire

  • I am being anxious and indisciplined


🔁 Sep Priorities

  1. Set sleep and wake time as fixed : I have been very bad at it now, how long can you avoid not having dicomfort. Trying to fix with regular early dinner 


  2. Daily journaling + TODO list — getting started on

  3. Track screen time i think twitter or the cheap dopamine shots are getting addictive, cutting them off

  4. Fix diet — no junk, no means no

  5. Phone off by 10 PM-  on my way

  6. Write bi monthly update
  7. Blog more here. and ditch phone
  8. Meditations: take 30 long breathes each night.
  9. Twitter: its an extension of news that you so well avoided time to do it again champ
